With a lot of the learning process out of the way from his first full season of the BNT V8s, Pukekohe driver Nick Farrier is aiming to move himself further up the grid as round one of the new season gets underway this weekend.
Competing in class two, Farrier was pleased with his progress last season, notching up a handful of podium race finishes and his first win at Hampton Downs in the final round and finished fifth overall in the championship.
“It was my first full season last year, and most of the tracks I had never been to. So each weekend it was really about learning the tracks and not so much the car,” says Farrier.
“Just as you would get to grips with the circuit the weekend would be over and you’d be onto the next event.”
“With that all out of the way now, this season I can concentrate on fine tuning the car and getting ourselves further up the grid.”
“The cars are all pretty close on the track and the drivers are all very good, so I need to be able to maximize the opportunities and race well to continue getting those good results.”
Farrier will enjoy new support this season from RYCO 24•7 and 82C Hose & Fittings.
“Certainly without having a major sponsor like RYCO 24•7 and 82C Hose & Fittings and the backing from other businesses, racing wouldn’t be possible. Trying to grab a few podiums this weekend will be the aim to help repay the faith they have shown in me.”
