Round two of the NZV8s Series kicks off this weekend at Hampton Downs with a wide variety of V8 powered machinery hitting the North Waikato circuit.
Having taken the round win at Pukekohe in December, Tim Edgell leads the championship and returns to the grid for the second round in his Holden Commodore V8 SuperTourer.
Having sustained significant damage from a crash into the wall at Pukekohe’s turn one in December, Cambridge racer Nick Ross and his team have been busily repairing his Nissan Altima over the Xmas and New Year break, the repairs finished this week.
Following a stellar weekend at Pukekohe in December, which left him sitting third in points, Rob Wallace returns in his Holden Commodore V8 SuperTourer and will hoping to finish up the pointy end of the field again this weekend. Add to that the two BMW’s of Andrew Nugent and Peter Beguely.
Also, look for the newly acquired MARC Ford Mustang from Collins Motorsport with Sam Collins behind the wheel. The team will also run their older generation NASCAR powered Ford Mustang, with Angus Fogg rumored to be behind the wheel.
Look for the Holdens of Peter Begovich and Paul Bertram too.
Joining the field this weekend will be Brady Wild in the ex Simon Evans Holden Commodore V8 SuperTourer – Evan’s set to co-drive in the one-hour feature race.
The NZV8s Series will have two qualifying races on Saturday, one being a marble draw the other being a reverse of marble drawer before the one-hour feature race on Sunday.
