Sam Barry has a championship podium finish in his sights as the final round of the BNT NZ Touring Car Championship heads to Hampton Downs Motorsport Park this weekend.
Barry currently sits in third position in the points standings on 699, 158 behind Tom Alexander in second place, Barry’s team mate Jason Bargwanna only 60 points further back in fourth.
Barry and Richards Team Motorsport (RTM) have high confidence that they will be able to finish on the championship podium after a maiden BNT NZ Touring Car race win last round at Manfield Circuit Chris Amon.
“I’m looking forward to finishing the season on a high after an up and down season,” says Barry.
“I can’t wait to roll the car out on to track and carry the momentum from the win at Manfeild into the final round this weekend.”
“I reckon it is set to be a tight run to the finish to find the championship podium honours.”
RTM have again been busy between rounds to prepare both of their Toyota Camry’s after substantial damage to Sam’s #71 in race one at Manfeild and also Jason Bargwanna’s #97 having engine issues.
